about most anything pertaining to horses that there isn't a specific board for. If you enjoy talking to others about horses, this is the spot. If you want a message board up specific to breed, or type of horse activity, just let me know and I'll put it up here.

;D I just wanted to rub in that it is BEAUTIFUL here in the low country and I am going out to the barn to visit my big brown cow. We may even take a trail ride if she feels up to it! Then again it is going to take me 2 hous to get her clean since she is shedding and decided that she was going ta take the biggest mud bath possible just to delight her mom and get more treats. Isn't that just the sweetest thing! I love my cow!

HI All its the middle of July and the bugs are out in full force which takes away from my riding enjoyment. I really don't like summer anymore...it's only good for laying around a pool or going to the beach. I don't like the dead of winter either but at least it kills the bugs. I wanted to share that I went out on my first solo ride last night. this November will be 4 years since I got my horses. Last night I got bagged by the young girl who rides my other horse she was susposed to cal if she wasn't coming so I had both all saddled and ready to go and no call. I know Slim (my horse) won't leave willingly without another horse but Bob has left on Buster before and not for very long because I was afraid Slim would have a heart attack. So I rode off into the sunset alone and Slim was busy eating grass in the round pen and never noticed we were gone. It was a very pleasant uneventful ride. A owl flew over my head which was really cool...they are silent...it's amazing. I had to come back because of the dark or I would have gone for a longer ride. I was out about an hour. I have alot to work on. I'm used to riding Slim...I think this is the most I ever rode Buster. Once he gets in shape he's in for some long rides alone. Like Clinton says "A lazy horse's worst nightmare is that his owner is going to become an endurance rider." That's my big news! Talk to you soon. Janeen

Good for you Janeen! I ride alone most of the time. There are loads of horses in the area, but nobody rides out of the arena. I'm waiting for Debby to get her indoor operating and then there will be some trail riders there. Are you coming over to Carol's this weekend? I am planing on leaving Ace there for the weekend and running back and forth. It should be fun with all the other horses. Hooray for you! .........Jane

Hi Jane! and everyone...Jane tell your hubby that he did a fantastic job on this web site. I'm really impressed. This weekend I have to go to a school play and a birthday party on Saturday and Sunday depending on the weather I'm going to try to go trail riding. I want to go on a 3 or 4 hour ride and pack a lunch and savour the day. Have fun this weekend! Janeen

Hi Janeen, I'm glad you like it. He has been so good about adding anything I ask for. I hope you get to ride. This weekend is supposed to be on the cool side, in the 70s, so you'll have the weather for it. I'm only good for about 2 hrs. so I should be able to ride in little spurts over there and then I can sit back and watch the others play. Carol has a horse teeter-totter and I am anxious to try it out. Enjoy your weekend.........Jane

So I have another friend who does parelli, and has a horse trailer so she is going to bring her pony to my barn and her Karah and I are going to have a mini playday. How exciting is that?

Heidi, That is so great! It is always more fun to play with friends and you can help each other with the games. Set up barrels and tarps and cones and anything else you can think of to send your horses around. I was able to get sideways with Ace last weekend. I was so excited. By the way I just got your stalking message. Cute!

Brownie likes to knock barrels over. LOL She is so silly. I wish you guys were closer. The wash rack on base has these big blue barrels that they give me for free so they don't have to pay to get rid of them. I have like 6 at the barn and they are fun! Or we could call stacy and she can get you some more! LOL

Don't need Stacy, we have car washes here that give barrels away also. Carol has loads of them in the obstacle course. Some of the kids were sidepassing over them. Definitely too advanced for Ace and me. There are lots of other things that you can do with them tho.

You have to admit that she was creative and you know you use those barrels! ;D When we get to side passing we will have to put a girdle on Brownie so her belly doesn't drag! HAHA
