Hi, I was told i need total hip replacement surgery-- I am on the young side of this type of surgery. Has anyone out there experienced this and went back to riding? Also my horse likes to toss me occasionally. Though if I avoid certain things he won't so...
My doctor says I can continue riding. Thanks, Judy

Welcome to the board Judy. I have talked to people who have had knee replacements and went right back to riding. I'm not so sure about hips but I will ask at the horse camp. There are so many older riders in that group, I'm sure there is someone who has had it done. Although we don't have a lot of registered people on the board yet, there are a lot of lookers. Anyone out there had hip replacement surgery?............Jane

Hi Judy, I have a friend Leslie who had both hips replaced. She does ride still, although from time to time she has some pain, usually when mounting and dismounting. I've seen her survive some bucking and tossing. If you are still curious I can ask her more about it and get back to you. -Katy
