UConn had a mustang auction last Sat. We went up Sun. to see if any were still there. There were still people there loading horses they had purchased and we heard there were 5 that were going back to Illinois. According to the volunteers, there were 53 horses and burros adopted. There were a lot of 1 and 2 year olds, some 3 and 4 year olds and a few that had been started by prisoners. That group sold the highest. I was surprised at how tall this group of mustangs were. One 3 year old stallion stood close to 16 hands. He caught a lot of eyes. He was dark bay with a curly black mane. I considered buying one for myself, but I don't have the fences here. Maybe next time. I believe the BLM people were pleased at how many animals they placed. Good luck to all the people who adopted.

We found several that we would have brought home and realized that the only way to avoid bringing one home was to avoid the auction. The next mustang auction won't be for 2 years so maybe by then I will have the facilities for one. You will be ready to train a mustang by then also. Actually if you come home, you can practice on Debbie's new baby. She heard they are going to be delivered in mid Sept. He is an eight month Hanoverian-Belgim cross. I'll post pics when he arrives.
