I am just catching up on what is going on. I just had my stitches removed from my surgurey on the 16th. My back is FINALLY better and I am not in any pain. The Dr. told me I could ride in about a month so I should be riding by the middle of September. I can go back to work at the end of next week. Things should start to return to normal . I won't be able to ride in the last Tyrone ride but maybe there will be some late fall events so I can get caught up on some riding. My horses all think that they are on some kind of permanent vacation. I hope everyone is doing well.

What kind of back surgery did you have? Don't you just hate being "down"? DH had knee scope surgery and he thinks he should be up and running after the first week! I had to get on line and find other people who had the same surgery and read how they are doing. Most of them are doing worse than him. He was only on crutches for one week. Most of them were on crutches for 3 weeks!

I had a herniated disk in my back. They went in and shaved off the disk material that was pushing on my nerve. It was pretty simple as back surgery goes, but this has finally taken care of the problem. It feels good to start getting back to normal as this has been going on since January.

I had no Idea that you were having surgery. The rumor mill never passed that information along. I'm so glad that you are doing well. I had a disc break off and was unable to use my right leg for about 3 months before they would do surgery. I was able to walk again right away and back on the horse in 7 weeks. The Dr. was not happy but I told him I couldn't live without riding. Look at the links on the home page. Geo added a calendar of rides through Oct. He will add more as we find them. I'm so glad you are doing well.

Hey Jane; One day at work my leg started to really hurt again and I had to go see the surgeon. I had to wait two weeks just to see him and then he was going on vacation. I had the surgery on the 16th and had to stay over in the hospital one night. As soon as I woke up my leg did not hurt because the pressure was gone it was incredible. I was really out of touch for the month before my surgery (I was in a lot of pain and stuck in bed) so I didn't even see anyone. I think that is why nobody even knew. It sure feels good to be able to walk again and to sit up straight.

It's like a miracle after being so disabled for so long. Once you get back on the horse again, we'll have to meet and ride. I have all the maps from the cross state ride as well as Fay has been taking me out on a lot of new trails she has found. Speaking of Fay, her neato group is camping at the horse camp this weekend. I was thinking of riding with them one day but 10 miles is too much for Ace and I. We are getting old and need short rides. Take care of that back. I am so glad to hear you're doing well.
