Hi Everyone, To make sure that 2009 is our best year yet.... keep on progressing. Remember it’s all the little things that make a big difference. Keep your horse sharp and in tuned to you by asking him/her to connect with you each and every day. At feeding time ignore the impulse to drop the feed and go. Be particular about asking your horse to give to your bubble as you approach with feed.... keeping that safe distance between you and him. Ask him to remember his patience and wait until you give the "ok" to go to the feed bucket. Even if you only have to walk a few feet to turn your horse out in the am... take a moment to catch him... halter him... and lead him. Don't just lead him .... Send him or change sides as you go... disengage him ... step his shoulders over...maybe a few steps sideways... . Keep those body parts responsive. Be particular so you direct every step he takes. Direct him so you don't have to correct him. Do the same when you bring him in at night. If your horse has a run-in, create a ritual of some kind that will keep him connected and listening to you. Five or ten minutes 2x a day will produce a happy and willing horse. Carol ourlifeonthefarm.blogspot.com/
