When I first started boarding at my barn they were feeding twice a day and my horse was fat as a tick, almost too fat. Then they brought it down to once in the morning and no hay. Now they have one round bale for all their fat little butts and still grain once a day. My question is if I move her again and find a place that feeds twice a day will she need to be readjusted or will she be ok. I am in active looking but it may be active if I find out that they have an incompent dumb head (aka Kay) taking care of the barn. Poop will hit the fan! Wish me luck!

As long as she gets the same amount and the same feed, it won't hurt her to be fed more often. In fact, it will be better for her. Horses are built to eat a little very often. They are grazing animals and we try to change their habits by feeding less often but somehow they adjust.

she should be fine as long as you make the transition slowly. don't change the routine too quickly or you'll be up all night walking a colicky horse : ( not fun!
