Sat. Carol and I took Ace and Jones to a judged pleasure ride. The weather man forecast showers ending early Sat. morn. Ha! We arrived in a heavy drizzle, donned our rain jackets and off we went. We did the tasks they had and headed out on the trails. The rain got heavier but being tough old broads, we were not going back. The trails are paths mowed along the edges of the fields, so you go downhill and uphill along the edges of the fields. The views are lovely when you top a hill and we were enjoying our ride. Then the rain got harder and the thunder sounded far off, we pressed on. Then the lightening flashed and the thunder boomed overhead and we beat feet for the trailer. We took the horses home and went back by car for the lunch and watched the rest of the dripping horses and riders head back to their trailers. Everyone laughed it off and a good time was had by all.

Good for you Jane that is terrific. Sorry to hear about the bad weather, the trails there are so nice it is a shame your ride was ruined by the rain. There is another one in August sometime. Hopefully the weather will be warm and sunny for that one. I think they have a Brunch ride in July sometime too, that might be nice.

Yes in fact we are talking about the brunch ride. That looks like it would be fun. We are also thinking about the hunter pace. They have a designation for people who don't jump.

Speakin of hunter paces, there is one coming up down here and I am hoping to have my cow ready to go! Is there a freight train class? We would definitely take the blue in that!!!

You wouldn't be the only rider on a draft up here. There are a lot of people riding them now. We run into drafts on every trail ride we attend.
