Sunday am Carol and I took Ace and Jones to a fund raiser for the bathrooms at the horse camp at Escoheag. The poop dee doo ride. There were a lot of people there and I ran into some old friends as well. We met Elaine and her horse and off we went. We had a choice of 2 marked loops around 6 miles each and chose the shortest one. The trails are clearly marked with yellow ribbons leaving no question which way to ride. Of course there were some directionally challenged people who kept riding in circles, but they eventually found their way back to the camp. The trails were great, the weather cool and not one deer fly did we encounter! When we arrived back at camp, there was a delicious lunch waiting. Many of the riders in that club ride for mileage so they headed off to do the second loop. We old farts had had enough and happily headed back to the ranch. What a great day.

Hey Jane, Sounds like you had a great time.
On Saturday, Janeen, Tommy and I went to the horse camp at Natchaug for the NEATO/CHC project to open up the campsites. There were quite a few people there everyone worked really hard dragging brush and cutting limbs. Fay really did a nice job getting that all together with the CHC. There was a nice lunch provided for all the volunteers.
On Wednesday the 4th of July, the three of us went for a short trail ride from Janeens up to the horsecamp and back. It was my first ride that was longer than 15 minutes since March. It felt good to get out. My back did not bother me at all and thankfully I am not sore today. I can't wait to get riding some more. The weather looks like it is going to be nice this weekend but riding will have to wait because tomorrow morning we are going to Pennsylvania to see Clinton Anderson. We will be home late Sunday night. I can't wait to see him in person he is so funny on his tapes and RFD shows, I can't imagine how great it is going to be. I hope everyone has a good weekend. I will tell you how the tour was on Monday.

Hooray for you! I am so glad that back is getting better. I pulled mine mopping the floor a couple of weeks back, but that healed pretty quickly. I wanted to go up to the horse camp to help but had to do family things. Next time I'll go. Fay is an awesome organizer. I'll never get over how she served a complete turkey dinner to 50 people at the horse camp last year. Clinton Anderson Wow! He is terrific. I saw him at the equine affair one year. He is very clear and concise in his training and definitely amusing. Can't wait to hear how it goes. Have a great time....
