Instead of addressing all horse problems with cookie-cutter solutions, Parelli uses Horsenality to identify four unique horse personalities, then teaches people to solve problems based on their horse's Horsenality and what motivates their horse to be their partner. The four Horsenalities are:
Left-Brain Extrovert - high-energy, confident, playful and "naughty" horses. Solve problems and motivate these horses by keeping them busy and giving them puzzles to solve. Have a bossy but fun attitude!
Left-Brain Introvert - low-energy, confident, food-motivated and "lazy" horses. Solve problems and motivate these horses by presenting them with a task and then waiting for them to become mentally engaged. Go slow and be mentally intense.
Right-Brain Introvert - low-energy, lacking confidence, bonding and "worried" horses. Solve problems and motivate these horses by slowing way down and waiting for them to relax and become confident. Go slow and allow them to process.
Right-Brain Extrovert - high-energy, lacking confidence, flighty and "crazy" horses. Solve problems and motivate these horses by matching their energy and giving them constructive things to do with their energy until they calm down. Be quick but firm and don't get emotional!
