Hello All! I just wanted to take this time to tell you about an organization I am with. It is called Dare to Dream Ranch(D2DR). Karen Dalton is the founder of D2DR, and she is actively trying to obtain an equine facility in Foster, RI. This facility will help transform the lives of homeless and at risk U.S. male and female military Veterans by providing a free multifaceted equine assisted therapy program during a 12 week camp. Veterans will learn how to manage current situations and future challenges. Here is a little about it:
This program will include complimentary alternative medicine treatments like yoga provided by Alison Bologna from Channel 10, reflexology, hypnotherapy, nutrition education provided by RI Food Bank, and exercise for Veterans. There will also be a garden that the Veterans will be taking care of, provided by URI Master Gardeners where the produce will be used to help feed the homeless Veterans. A job internship program will be designed to help the Veterans find their passion and make them successful civilians.
Here is a link to the newscast that was done locally on this facility “to-be”!

In order to fulfill this dream the property ($675,000) needs to be purchased. Once purchased, we can get in and start with repairs that are needed on a volunteer basis. There will be other construction/renovation projects that will eventually be done so the Veterans have a place to stay while on the ranch.
You can help by going to: www.gofundme.com/Supporting-Our-Veterans and making a flat donation or even a $5/month (less than a glass of wine)
If you know any local businesses that accept credit cards we have partnered up with a company called Swipe for a Cause. They will offer a lower processing rate and in turn will donate a portion to the ranch.
If you have any questions or want to know how you can help, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Most Appreciative,
Robbin Neill MSN-Ed,RN,VA-BC
