Ace and I attended a 3-day clinic hosted by Carol Ross last weekend. The weather was perfect, Larry was an easy person to learn from and we had a great group of riders. Sat. Larry rode Carol's Mac to demonstrate what we would be learning during the weekend and after lunch we mounted up and started. We worked on simply turning our horses with our bodies and not hauling on the reins. We did roll-backs and backups, again without pulling on the reins. We did lots of circles and our horses became lighter and lighter as we worked. During the lunch break, Larry explained how bits work and how to use them properly. He also explained about saddle fit and demonstrated why a saddle is good or bad on a particular horse. The last day ,Larry rode each of our horses and explained how to work on that horse. I was exhausted at the end of the 3 days but I came away with so much useful information. Thank you Carol for the use of your farm. Thank you Larry for your patience ,great stories and good schooling. .........Jane
